Per Diem Dietary Aide
 
The per diem dietary aide will be available to fill in for employees who are absent and as needed in the dietary department. Under the supervision of the Dietary Manager, the per diem dietary aide works in conjunction with cook in preparing patient meal trays and special diet requirements. The dietary aide is also responsible for nourishment preparation, dishwashing, clean up and preparation of tray service for the next meal. 
 
Applicant must have the ability to multitask, follow state and federal mandated regulations in regards to food preparation and storage, work well with the public and other staff members, as well as be organized and dependable. 
 
Minimum qualifications are any combination of training, education, and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills and ability such as:
 
§ Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
§ Per NRS 449 and NRS 200, successful applicant(s) must pass required state and federal background checks. 
§ Institutional food preparation experience preferred
§ Food Handler’s Card is preferred
§ Incumbent may be required to obtain ServSafe Certification in the first 30 days of employment.

Hawthorne—also known as America’s Patriotic Home, is located 130 miles from Reno, 318 miles from Las Vegas, and 70 miles to the eastern entrance of Yosemite National Park.  Hawthorne is the county seat of Mineral County and at the 2010 census, the population was 3,269. The nearby Hawthorne Army Depot is the primary economic base of the town.
