CNA Class
Mt. Grant General Hospital is now accepting applications for a CNA training class. Class will be held in September with dates of class to be announced. Limited space is available.
Selected applicants will participate in a twelve day CNA training class offered at Mt. Grant General Hospital. (Please note: This class is paid for by the Hospital. There is NO compensation provided for participation in the class.) Participants will learn information and skills needed to pass the Nevada State Certified Nurse Assistant written and skills tests. Students who successfully complete the course will be hired temporarily as NATs (nurse assistant in training) to receive further hands-on instruction and experience while they are waiting to take the test for the NV CNA license. Participants receiving their NV CNA license may apply for any open CNA positions at Mt. Grant General Hospital.
Minimum qualifications are any combination of training, education, and experience that would provide the required knowledge and ability such as:
  • Must be at least 16 years old.
  • Applicants must pass nursing board background per NRS 632.344 and NRS 632.3446.
  • Per NRS 449 and NRS 200.5091, successful applicant(s) must pass required state and federal background checks.

Hawthorne—also known as America’s Patriotic Home, is located 130 miles from Reno, 318 miles from Las Vegas, and 70 miles to the eastern entrance of Yosemite National Park.  Hawthorne is the county seat of Mineral County and at the 2010 census, the population was 3,269. The nearby Hawthorne Army Depot is the primary economic base of the town.
