Laura Millsap, PA-C
The staff of Mt. Grant General Hospital is pleased to announce that Laura Millsap, Physician Assistant-Certified (PA-C) has come back to her hometown of Hawthorne, to practice family medicine. Ms. Millsap brings to us her fresh, new, innovative ideas in the fast pace, quickly changing medical field.
Laura is a 1995 graduate from MCHS, where she has always been interested in the medical field. After graduation, Laura became a pre-veterinarian undergrad at The University of Nevada, Reno where she studied animal science. By her senior year, Laura had decided that pre-med had sparked her interest enough to gain more knowledge in human medicine, which also led to a ten year Biomed research position, after graduating UNR in 1999. It was then that she decided to get her Certified Nursing Assistance License (CNA) and worked at St. Mary’s Hospital for three years before deciding on attending Touro University Nevada located in Henderson, Nevada. The only University that has a PA program in Nevada. After earning her Masters in Physician Assistant studies, she took her National Assistant Certification Exam and passed.

As you may recall, she competed her rotation at Mt. Grant last year about this time, where her growing interest in rural medicine solidified. She is proud to say that she is back serving the community that she grew up in.
